The idea of 80s pop songs and ragga seemed to make so much sense at the time. Bobby McFerrin & Beanie Man? The Cure & Kardinal Offishall? Hell yeah.

It all started with a remix of Don’t Get Me Wrong by The Pretenders with Elephant Man on Punchline Records, but Annie Mac played the hell out of the flipside (Professor Longhair & Cutty Ranks) on Radio 1.

I was already running a bashment night at 333 in Shoreditch so it seemed logical to set up a label for the weird mash-ups we played. Here’s a handful of the releases and dubplates from Noisybunch Records.

Easily the biggest hit was this remix of Flat Beat, which has been on tons of compilations and mixes, and people even repressed it. It’s not like I really own it, so fair play to them. It keeps getting taken down on Soundcloud (understandable), so I made a little video for it.
